Project: Sports Complex-Entertainment District Master Plan | City of Sunland Park

Ben’s responsibilities included leading the planning team and coordinating with other groups at Wilson & Company – including architecture, civil, water-wastewater, and environmental – to develop the master plan documents. Ben also worked directly with subconsultants at the New Mexico State University Arrowhead Center and Center for Border Economic Development (C-BED) to develop economic impact analyses related to master plan recommendations. The Wilson & Company team conducted a public engagement process to identify the vision and program for these facilities. Ben worked with Wilson & Company planners, City staff, and the project steering committee to design all public engagement activities, which included hybrid (in-person & virtual) public meetings and public surveys. Ben led all public meetings and meetings with the project steering committee. Wilson & Company assisted the City of Sunland Park with site, land use, and transportation planning for sites in the Rio Grande corridor that runs through much of the city. The city is examining a number of recreation- and tourism-related opportunities, including an expanded municipal sports complex, a convention/hotel complex, and a riverside trail.
