This project identified improvements to access to planned industrial park sites in Prewitt and Milan, NM. The project focused on enhancing safe and efficient movement of road- and rail-based freight traffic to the industrial parks between nearby Interstate 40 and BNSF mainline tracks. The project also identified recommendations to improve safety and mobility for commuters and travelers in general in the project area, which included several Navajo Chapters. The master plan analyzed anticipated trip generation, land use, safety/crash data, existing transportation infrastructure, and other information to identify infrastructure needs and projects.
Ben organized many aspects of the project, including organizing stakeholder engagement, managing technical analyses, and creating reports. He was the lead author of the Technical Report and Implementation Plan, key documents that supported the main final plan.
